No "Dirt" for Zombie

Yesterday (March 2), it was all over the web that Rob Zombie would be directing the film version of Motley Crue’s notorious memoir, The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band. Zombie now says those reports are untrue. “No, I’m not doing the Motley Crue movie,” Zombie told Undercover.fm, in a video interview set to be published next week. “I don’t know where that [rumor] came from.”

The misinformation apparently originated in an interview with Crue’s Tommy Lee, published yesterday on Billboard.com. Lee hinted that newly-written Motley Crue material might be incorporated into the bio-pic, which, Billboard stated, is “on track with Rob Zombie as its director.”
