Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock covers the crazy stories he’s gathered over the years while pursuing a solo career, rocking out with Van Halen and playing with his bands the Warboritas and Chickenfoot.
In an interview promoting the memoir, Hagar told MTV Hive that he loves UFO stuff so much that he could devote a whole book to the subject. He’s also studied numerology and talked with psychics.
The alien dream included in the memoir involves a ship with two creatures that were tapped into the singer’s mind “through some kind of mysterious wireless connection.”
After the MTV Hive reporter kids around with Hagar, asking if he’s ever been abducted by aliens, the singer admits that the dream was real.
“It was real. [Aliens] were plugged into me. It was a download situation. This was long before computers or any kind of wireless. There weren’t even wireless telephones. Looking back now, it was like, ‘F**k, they downloaded something into me!’ Or they uploaded something from my brain, like an experiment. ‘See what this guy knows.’”
Hagar added that it wasn’t his first encounter with aliens, recalling when he was four years old and saw a car without wheels floating across a field. After throwing rocks at the vehicle, Hagar says he can't remember what happened next
