Hendrix coat on auction

A Frock coat worn by guitar legend Jimi Hendrix on the night he died is likely to sell for $25,000 at auction. The star accidentally left the grey custom-made coat at a friend’s house hours before he choked to death on his vomit in September 1970. Pop memorabilia expert Ted Owen was given the jacket by Hendrix’s unidentified friend – an unnamed Lord – in the late 1990s, after valuing his collection.
Mr Owen said: “He said Jimi left the coat and, of course, never came back for it.”
He feared his mother had given it to charity, but found it in a suitcase in July and is selling it through his online auction house, The Fame Bureau, on August 24.
