Katy Perry has tied Michael Jackson's record for five straight #1 Billboard Hot 100 singles off the same album, as "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" hits #1 last week. Jackson achieved the feat with five singles from his '87 classic Bad. Perry becomes the first female artist to have five #1 singles from the same record. Her 2010 release Teenage Dream has now sent "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." and "Last Friday Night" to the top of the chart.
Mariah Carey had five #1 hit singles between 1990 and 1991, and Whitney Houston holds the record with seven consecutive #1 singles between 1985-88, but these streaks were not all off one album. Jackson's five Bad #1 hits were: "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," "Bad," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Man in the Mirror" and, "Dirty Diana."
