While Nikki Sixx claims he’s not at liberty to discuss 'The Dirt' movie project at the present time, the Crue bassist has actually been very chatty lately about the forthcoming movie.
“Everything is moving forward really quickly,” Sixx says. “The best thing I feel would be to find a young, hungry bunch of actors [that wants] to go all the way out, and they will own it. People always say how great it would be to have ‘so and so’ in the movie, but I think the actors should be unknown names instead of seeing an actor who you recognize from playing several parts, and then you could see them as one of us.”
Sixx admits that it will be challenge for the movie to cram in everything that’s covered in the book, which was released in 2001.
“We’ve met with the director and the production company, and we’re very excited,” Sixx adds, “but it’s nothing I can really talk about right now, but when we get the green light to talk about it, we’ll talk about it all day long.”
As for the future of Motley Crue? Sixx stated...
"The band sat down and had a powwow as brothers and friends and guys
who’ve been doing this for over 30 years, and we said, 'When is it time?'" Nikki told Rolling Stone. "We’ve always said since we were kids we didn’t
want to hobble in to the sunset. So after the movie, at some point – whether
it’s within a year or a few years – we’re probably gonna have that conversation
about maybe it’s time, maybe it’s time to go out on top."
"If I’m watching my favorite boxer, and he’s just won the heavyweight
championship of the world and he retires, it kind of makes the guy a
legend," he says. "I always respected Led Zeppelin, and I’d rather
Mötley Crüe be thought of as that type of band rather than a band that’s just
going through the motions."
Sixx also said Motley might film the shows at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for a DVD ?
